Clandestino Coffee is a Sunshine Coast coffee roaster with roots in Noosa and a strong focus on helping people understand and enjoy specialty coffee. The business began in 2011 inside Belmondos Organic Market, before establishing its roastery and flagship store in Noosaville. For visitors exploring Noosa Heads and the surrounding coast, it offers a coffee-led stop with an emphasis on flavour, brewing technique and the people behind each origin.

The cafe has a full espresso bar with four grinders, including its long-running house blend Magneto and Colombian decaf, as well as two seasonal single origins. The brew bar is the standout for anyone who enjoys exploring different preparation styles: the team lists syphons, pour overs, batch brews, cold drip, cold brew, Chemex and nitro brew on tap among its options. A pour-over menu is also available, featuring coffees selected for their high cupping scores. Magneto is central to the Clandestino story. The first house blend has been roasted since the business began and is used as the reference point for the company’s approach to flavour, acidity, body, finish and sweetness. The wider range includes blends and coffees such as Sundaland, Stealth and Highland, while the roastery also works with rotating single origins from producers around the world. The business says it considers grower relationships, ethical practices and fair pricing when sourcing, with a particular connection to coffees from Papua New Guinea and East Timor.

Founder Jaxon Taylor’s family connection to Papua New Guinea coffee informs the brand’s history, including stories of his father Perry’s years as a pilot and later cafe owner in Noosa. The Noosaville site combines a cafe, roastery and retail store in an industrial neighbourhood, with baristas keen to answer questions and a plane suspended from the ceiling. Behind the scenes, coffee is roasted on a Probat drum roaster, with the roastery supported by rooftop solar panels.
