Why it's worth checking out
Cotton Tree Holiday Park sits in a particularly well-connected part of Maroochydore, with direct access to both the Maroochy River and Maroochydore Beach. That gives guests two very different waterfront experiences: surf and beach time on one side, and calmer river water for activities such as windsurfing or sailing on the other. The river is also noted for year-round fishing, while the nearby beach is patrolled for swimming and other family-friendly seaside activities.
The park covers more than eight hectares of landscaped beach and riverfront grounds, with plenty of space and shade. Its river setting is a strong part of the experience, whether you are using a waterfront site, relaxing by the bank or gathering around one of the barbecues as the sun sets. The layout also includes direct river access, waterfront camping options and a choice of accommodation for different types of stays.
Accommodation includes powered tourist caravan sites, including 24 absolute waterfront sites, as well as unpowered tent sites on the waterfront. For guests wanting more structure, there are nine Deluxe Villas: six with two bedrooms and three with one bedroom, including two one-bedroom villas designed to meet easy-access requirements. The park also has a four-bedroom Beach House, making it suitable for larger families or groups travelling together. Shared facilities include four amenity buildings, three laundries with washing machines and dryers, baby facilities with a bath and change table, a camp kitchen, free Wi-Fi and barbecues. LPG, party ice and bait are also available on site.
Families have the Cotton Tree Aquatic Centre immediately next door, with 50-metre and 25-metre pools, while the centre’s listed facilities also include a smaller heated pool, water play areas, outdoor fitness equipment, accessible facilities, aqua aerobics, child minding and a café. Beyond the park, guests can ride along local bike paths, visit Sunshine Plaza, walk to nearby cafés and restaurants, or head to the Maroochy Surf Club, Maroochy RSL or Maroochydore Beach Bowls Club, which is about 100 metres from the entrance. With its combination of river access, beach proximity, camping, villas and larger accommodation, Cotton Tree Holiday Park suits families, couples, solo travellers and groups looking for a base in Maroochydore.
