Moffat Beach Motel Caloundra is a 12-room, family-run place to stay in Caloundra, positioned away from the highway in what the owners describe as a safe, quiet setting. The beach, Moffat Headland’s surf break, local parks and a selection of cafés, galleries and restaurants are all within walking distance. Caloundra’s dog beach is also said to be about a four-minute walk away, making the location practical for guests who want to spend time outdoors without relying on the car.

Rooms are available on the ground or upper level and include split-system air-conditioning for heating and cooling, a large wall-mounted digital television, free Wi-Fi for up to two devices per room, tea- and coffee-making facilities and a small fridge. Microwaves are provided, while toasters, crockery and utensils can be requested. Hairdryers and irons are also available. Every room is non-smoking, with a designated smoking area on site, and allocated parking is provided for one car per room.

For time at the motel, guests have access to an outdoor swimming pool described as clean and sunny, along with a barbecue area for guest use. Families are welcome, although the property is clear that it is not a party motel: noisy, drunken or inappropriate behaviour is not tolerated, and illegal drugs are prohibited. The owners say they continue to upgrade the linen and focus on keeping rooms clean and comfortable. Courtesy buses can collect and return guests to Caloundra RSL and local surf clubs.

The motel may suit beach visitors, families, guests attending events and people needing accommodation near the Sunshine Coast University Hospitals, which the site places around 7 kilometres or 10 minutes away. Sunshine Coast Stadium is listed as approximately 8 kilometres or 12 minutes by car, while the Caloundra Events Centre is under 2 kilometres away. Pet stays require a phone booking rather than an online reservation and are subject to conditions; the motel currently accepts poodles and other non-shedding, hypoallergenic breeds, with a one-off cleaning fee applying except for verified service animals. Arrivals after 6pm must also be arranged in advance.
