Why it's worth checking out

Noosa Hinterland Retreat is a private bed and breakfast in Eumundi, set on three acres overlooking the Noosa Hinterland. The property is designed as a quiet hideaway, with mature landscaping, fruit trees and colourful florals surrounding a traditional Queenslander-style homestead. Reached via a quiet mountain-top lane and a secure gate, it offers a more secluded setting than a conventional accommodation stay.

Guests are invited to enjoy the grounds as well as their accommodation. A lower lawn area, reached from the main driveway, provides space to relax or play a game of croquet, while the nearby chicken coop adds to the rural character. The retreat also has views towards the surrounding hinterland, with Mount Tinbeerwah about a five-minute drive away and offering a western outlook across the area.

The retreat is run by Russ Eudey and Robert Main, whose backgrounds span hotels, restaurants, airlines, the Royal Australian Navy and a world-class zoo. Their approach is centred on privacy, respect and meeting guests’ needs without intruding. Robert also maintains the grounds and the retreat’s tea and coffee farm, Tinbeerwah Tea Company, and the hosts are keen to share the property’s rainforest ecosystem and plantation with visitors.

The property is now largely self-sufficient, using rainwater and solar power, with LPG backup power for outages. Drinking water is triple-filtered rainwater, with bottled water available on request. Noosa Hinterland Retreat suits travellers looking for a peaceful base, private surroundings and a closer connection with the landscape. It holds a 4.8 Google rating from 50 reviews. The retreat also includes the Asiatic Suite at Nautilus Resort on Mooloolaba beach, added in 2019, although the main property is in the Eumundi hinterland.

The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.8 from 50 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
