Why it's worth checking out
Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort is a large 4-star stay in Twin Waters, near Maroochydore, built around a private saltwater lagoon and landscaped resort grounds. The setting is a strong part of the experience: guests can relax beside the lagoon-style pool, use kayaks and catamarans at no extra charge, and spot kangaroos moving through the gardens. The resort is also within walking distance of a patrolled surf beach, the Maroochy River boardwalk and an 18-hole golf course, giving visitors several ways to enjoy the coastal surroundings without travelling far.
Accommodation ranges from garden- and lagoon-view rooms to one-bedroom suites and distinctive Overwater Bungalows. Room types include king, queen and double-bed configurations, with selected rooms offering balconies or terraces. Accessible accommodation is available, while larger groups can consider the Grand Overwater Bungalow, which has three king beds and space for up to six guests. The combination of standard rooms, suites and bungalows makes the resort suitable for couples, families and group stays, although the accommodation experience will vary by room type.
Dining and shared spaces are centred on the lagoon and pool areas. Sola Restaurant provides indoor and outdoor dining with garden and water views, while Sola Bar offers all-day dining overlooking the resort waters. The Deli Cafe, located in the main foyer, stocks grocery products, drinks, coffees, teas, pastries and savoury items. Breakfast is served at Sola Restaurant, with buffet dinner available on weekends and dinner offered on selected evenings; bookings are required for the restaurant and menus change seasonally.
The resort has been progressively updated, with the website highlighting work to the swimming pool, main lobby, Sola Bar and more than half of the guest rooms, as well as the addition of the Overwater Bungalows. Facilities also include two fitness spaces, Wi-Fi, on-site parking, meeting rooms and wedding facilities. Its event offering is substantial, with 13 meeting rooms and capacity for up to 1,400 people, while the landscaped grounds, lagoon and dedicated wedding staff cater to celebrations. For leisure travellers, the location provides a base for Sunshine Coast outings to Mooloolaba, Noosa National Park, Eumundi Markets and Australia Zoo. It is best suited to guests looking for a self-contained resort atmosphere, families wanting on-site activities, or groups attending conferences and events.
