Why it's worth checking out

Stoa Bokarina is a restaurant and brunch spot in Bokarina, in the Kawana Waters area of the Sunshine Coast, built around all-day dining and a relaxed coastal setting. Open since November 2024, it is the sister cafe to One Block Back and combines modern design with the warm, welcoming feel the venue says it wants to create for friends and family. The menu covers brunch, coffee, pastries and more substantial meals, with wine, cocktails and beer on tap available for those staying beyond the morning.

The all-day brunch menu has plenty of choice without being limited to the usual café staples. Eggs on toast are served with poached, scrambled or fried eggs on artisan sourdough and house-made tomato maple jam, while the OBB Classic Benny pairs soft poached eggs with spinach, bacon or smoked salmon, hollandaise and sourdough. For something more substantial, Nonna’s One Pan Breakfast brings together mushroom arancini, fior di latte, roasted tomato passata, garlic ricotta, poached eggs, focaccia and parmesan. The Sticky Chilli Scramble takes a more flavour-forward direction with chilli eggs, crispy potatoes, sticky tamarind, kimchi and Asian-style accompaniments.

Vegetarian options are well represented, including the Caramelised Pumpkin Toast with whipped garlic ricotta, caramelised onion, peas, pomegranate and parmesan hazelnut crumble. Forest Mushrooms combines wild mushrooms, goat’s cheese, confit garlic, roasted peperonata and poached eggs on sourdough. Other options include the Satay Nourish Bowl with chicken or tofu, rice noodles, edamame, avocado and house-made kimchi, as well as Sticky Char Siu Pork Belly with crispy roti, kimchi fried rice and Asian greens. Belgian waffles, pastries, acai bowls, sandwiches and fries round out the menu.

Stoa suits a casual breakfast, a catch-up over coffee or a longer meal with friends and family. The venue’s stated focus on community, creativity and relaxed company makes it a natural option for groups, while the broad menu also gives solo diners plenty to choose from. Brunch runs Monday to Sunday, with the kitchen operating from 7am to 1.30pm; tapas is offered on Friday and Saturday from 4pm until late. Bookings are recommended, and parties of 10 or more are asked to contact the venue directly.

The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.4 from 201 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
