The Law Artisan Distillery

Tucked down a lane behind Corbins at 34 Duporth Avenue, The Law Artisan Distillery is a small working distillery and bar in central Maroochydore. The venue operates from a 25-square-metre shed, where spirits are produced onsite using a 120-litre pot still and hands-on, small-batch methods. A visit offers more than a drink: depending on the day, you may see the stills running, fruit being prepared or fresh botanicals being worked with. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions and take a closer look at how the spirits are made.

The range includes gin, vodka, amari and liqueurs, with a focus on local character. Botanicals are sourced from the distillery’s own gardens, nearby Sunshine Coast gardens and backyards, as well as from further afield when there is no suitable local option. Seasonal fruit and herbs are used when available, so some amari and liqueurs are made in limited batches. The distillery’s vodka is made from grape spirit, while its small-batch gins combine local botanicals with ingredients from around the world. Vanilla Grass Vodka and Maroochy Vodka are among the named spirits featured on the site.

The atmosphere is informal and tucked away, with the shed’s workshop-like setting making the production process part of the experience. You can visit for a tasting, order a cocktail at the bar, buy a bottle to take home or simply get a glimpse of small-scale distilling in action. The approach is deliberately hands-on, with the distillery describing every batch as a collaboration between the maker, local growers and the people who come in to taste the results.
