The Sanctuary Cafe Dicky Beach

The Sanctuary Cafe Dicky Beach is a coastal cafe and restaurant on Beerburrum Street, a few minutes from Dicky Beach in Caloundra. It is open daily from 6am to 8pm, making it suited to an early coffee, breakfast, lunch or an easy evening meal. The venue describes itself as a place to settle in rather than simply pass through, with a relaxed atmosphere and outdoor seating that welcomes families and furry companions.

A strong focus of the cafe is gluten-free dining. Around 90% of the menu is available gluten-free, with food cooked in a dedicated gluten-free fryer and staff trained in cross-contamination procedures. That focus came from owner Abhijeet Bedi’s experience of seeing limited options for the Coeliac community in hospitality. Since opening in 2021, the cafe has aimed to make ordering easier for diners with gluten-related concerns while still offering plenty of choice for the wider group.
