Tina Cooper Art & Glass Gallery

Tina Cooper Art & Glass Gallery is a destination for exploring contemporary hot glass, sculpture and art shaped by the Australian landscape. Located in the Montville hinterland, the property is five minutes from Montville and set into the Blackall Range at Eagles Landing. The gallery’s collection includes Tina Cooper’s art glass and sculptural work, along with collaborations involving Indigenous artists, wood artists and blacksmiths. Indigenous paintings and wall sculptures are also displayed.

Nature is central to Tina Cooper’s practice, with the website describing influences ranging from rainforest and reef environments to myth, Indigenous culture and personal experience. Her series include Rainforest Totems, Tribal Goddess, Rainbow Lorikeet, Sea Scape, Great Barrier Reef, Seahorse, Nautilus, Enchanted Forest, Soul Essence and Wanjina. The Great Barrier Reef works draw on her passion for diving and snorkelling, while her broader practice uses hot glass, wood and iron to explore ideas around humanity, nature, life and death.

The Cave is an ongoing exhibition room for new work and other artists’ collections, while the Red Door Gallery and Studio showcases Wolfgang Engel’s art glass. Visitors may be able to watch Wolfgang work in the studio, and the site notes that he accepts commissions, runs hot-glass-blowing workshops and carries out glass repairs.
