Blackflag Brewing Coolum

Blackflag Brewing Coolum is a working brewery and bar in Coolum Beach, where the upstairs bar and beer garden look over the production area. The venue is built around drinking fresh Blackflag beer close to where it is made, with indoor seating spread across two levels and outdoor space for sunny afternoons. There is also a takeaway option, including cases, four-packs and growler fills of core-range beers and limited releases.

The drinks list extends beyond beer, with Bones Vodka RTDs, red, white and sparkling wines, and soft drinks available at the bar. Food comes from a changing roster of Sunshine Coast food trucks, operating on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, so the weekend food offering varies. Sunday is listed as a pies-and-pints session, while the venue directs visitors to its Instagram for the current truck line-up.

There is plenty to do between drinks. Blackflag Coolum hosts regular live music and local performers, and the space includes ping pong, basketball and vintage arcade games. Monthly trivia takes place on the first Thursday of each month, with free registration from 6pm and a food truck on site from 4pm. The events calendar also includes workshops, beer-focused outings and larger live shows, although the programme changes over time.
