The Royal Mail Hotel

The Royal Mail Hotel is a long-standing pub in Tewantin, in the Noosa area, with a contemporary coastal refresh. Established in 1882, it combines the character of a historic local with a brighter, more modern setting. The venue is close to Noosa’s beaches and suits everything from a relaxed drink to a meal shared with friends or family.

The Royal Mail’s story is closely tied to Tewantin’s development. Its first building opened in 1882 as a Cobb & Co state post stop, reflecting the hotel’s early role on the region’s transport and mail routes. Over the years it hosted locals, travellers and community celebrations, while successive owners helped connect the town with nearby transport routes and tourism. After the original hotel was destroyed by fire in 1938, the current brick building was constructed in 1940, with a functionalist design and Art Deco touches. That history gives the venue more depth than a standard pub stop, while its range of spaces makes it practical for casual solo visits, family meals, group catch-ups and larger events.
