Eumundi Conservation Park Eumundi Road gate

Eumundi Conservation Park’s Eumundi Road gate provides access to a network of shared trails through open eucalypt forest, wet forest, rainforest pockets, hills, creeks and gullies. It is a useful starting point for exploring a varied wildlife habitat on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback, with most trails built to forest-road width.

The Blackbutt trail runs 2.3km one way between the Eumundi Road and Seib Road gates. It passes grassy open forest featuring blackbutt, pink bloodwood, tallowwood and brush box, with an old cattle yard and dam offering a scenic place to pause. The dam is also identified as a spot to water horses. For a longer outing, the Geebung circuit is 6.1km return from the Eumundi Road gate, travelling through tall eucalypt forest, rainforest and open forest around the park’s hills, creeks and gullies.

Other options include the Figbird trail, which is 6.1km return from the Eumundi Road gate via the Blackbutt and Geebung trails, and the Ironbark trail, which reaches North Arm gate via Blackbutt over 6.6km one way. Trail conditions and grades vary: the site describes easy and intermediate sections, and notes that some routes include short steep parts. Checking the park map before setting out will help you choose an outing suited to your group’s fitness and experience.

This is a practical choice for solo walkers, riding groups and mixed-use trail outings, rather than a picnic venue with developed facilities. Because the tracks are shared, visitors are asked to slow down and be considerate when approaching others; cyclists give way to walkers and horseriders, while walkers give way to horses. Camping is not permitted in the park. The Queensland Government page reports no current park alerts, but recommends reading the park safety guidance before visiting.
