Mooloolaba Spit Park sits beside Mooloolaba Beach in Mooloolaba, on the sheltered side of Point Cartwright. The beach curves from the low rocks at the point towards the Mooloolaba Harbour entrance wall, with a continuous foreshore reserve running behind it. A road provides access points along the beach, while the reserve includes the Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club, a beachfront caravan park and a large car park.
The beach’s sheltered position shapes its character. Waves average around 0.5 to 1 metre near the surf club and fall to less than 0.5 metre closer to the harbour entrance. In front of the clubhouse, a shallow sand bar is generally continuous, although rips can form during and after higher seas. Near the harbour wall, the bar disappears and low waves usually surge up the beach.
There are also boating-related facilities on the harbour side of the road, adding to the setting’s connection with the water. The surf club has been part of the area since 1923, giving the northern end a long association with lifesaving and beach use. With its foreshore reserve, beach access and harbour surroundings, Mooloolaba Spit Park suits visitors looking for an open coastal setting in Mooloolaba, whether spending time by the beach, walking along the foreshore or observing the boating activity nearby. The source identifies the beach as patrolled.
Spot Score
The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.7 from 35 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
